Sometimes it is difficult to know what to do or figure out where to start in our organizational products. Here are the steps I live by in tackling any project:

Take the time
Often, our lives become too busy to organize or plan. In order to be successful, you must make time. Whether you set aside 30 minutes a day for a week, or a solid weekend, you must make the time to accomplish your goals...otherwise they will never be completed.

Have a vision or goal
What do you want to accomplish?
Reduce clutter? Reorganize your storage so that you can find things when you need them? Throw away or donate things you don't use?
It is important to sit down and assess what you would like to accomplish. If you know what you want, you can create a plan to get there.

Create a plan and a timeline
You have a goal...Great! Now, it is time to create a plan and a timeline.
Plans are important because organizing can be very overwhelming. Everyone's plan is a little different. Does it help for you to clean out the entire room and bring in items one by one? Do you organize a part of the room at a time? Figure out what will be easiest for you and then do it.
Timelines are very important as well. If you don't stick to a timeline, the room may never be organized. You can set aside time each day, or plan one day to tackle the project. Again, do whatever works for you...or hire someone to do it for you!

Stay focused
I cannot stress this enough. STAY FOCUSED!!! If you are not focused, you will never complete the project (or it will take a very long time). If you can't stay focused, have someone help you tackle the project.
